STATE LEGISLATIVE CLEARINGHOUSE
About
Created by the ABA's Governmental Affairs Office (GAO) to help identify and monitor legislative activity at the state, as well as federal level, the State Legislative Clearinghouse (SLC) provides a wide array of services to the greater bar community.
Positioned within the GAO, the SLC helps to facilitate key relationships between the ABA's network of expert staff and bar leaders. Along with this website, the SLC manages legislative advocacy listservs tailored to serve bar professionals and maintains a comprehensive collection of materials, including information on all three branches of state and federal government, bill and ballot initiative tracking, policy reports, and media publications on issues of importance to the legal profession.
Annual State Legislative Workshop
Every year the State Legislative Clearinghouse combines efforts with the National Association of Bar Executives Government Relations Section (NABE GR) to bring together governmental relations professionals and bar leaders from across the country for informative policy briefings, best practices, professional development and networking events.
The 2008 State Legislative Workshop was held on November 12th - 14th in Washington, DC. For more information, please visit "Upcoming Events" found on the NABE GR website.
