The members of our armed services make enormous sacrifices for our nation, at little pay and great hardship to their families. When legal problems arise, involving finances and family matters, they deserve to have proper legal assistance. The ABA Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel invited me to participate in their fall program at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command. I welcomed the opportunity to speak about the rule of law with those who defend it around the world.
