About this iPod

This iPod is preloaded with the following CLE audio programs.

Ethical Issues in Representing Children in Custody Proceedings: Super-Parent, Potted Plant...or Something in Between?
This audio program reviews ethical issues of competency, diligence, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and privilege as it relates to representing children. Since the role of the lawyer in representing children varies greatly from traditional roles in representing adult clients, a careful review of the applicable ethical rules is important to understand how the lawyer is to function in such a capacity. Lawyers who represent children or who are advocates for the best interests of children, and lawyers who represent parents in custody determinations will benefit from this in-depth discussion.

The Role of the Lawyer in Relation to the Client: Boss, Humble Servant, or Dr. Phil?
The normal client-lawyer relationship is based on the assumption that the client, when properly advised and assisted, is capable of making decisions about important matters. When the client is a minor or suffers from a diminished mental capacity, however, maintaining the ordinary client-lawyer relationship may not be possible in all respects. What decisions does the client control? At what point does the attorney have the right to decline to carry out client requests that are not illegal or unethical? Can one make enforceable rules regarding such an intimate relationship? In this audio program, our expert panel as they address some key ethical issues presented when representing clients in family law proceedings.
What's in the Package?

This iPod is fully preloaded with the two 90-minute audio programs and with fully searchable PDF written course materials for each that can be transferred to and viewed on your personal computer.
